May 24, 2000 "Do you wanna' wait forever?!" by Droog Hasbro Interactive have announced in a fact sheet released today (the 23rd in the US) that there will be a product developed with Microprose available before the end of the year. FINALLY! Man, oh man... I have been dying for this game to come out (and no... not some flakey, online-only, top-down, chess game thing with no GORE!). This is the real thing and Hasbro are doing their job paving the way for Starship Troopers, a real-time, squad-oriented game based on the film of the same name. The publisher today released a smattering of details and screenshots for the title, in which gamers join the MI fighting force to help defend the Terrans. Coming in August, people will command their own platoon of futuristic exterminators, who come complete with state-of-the-art weapons and powered armor combat suits. To help battle the 15 different arachnids, which will rain death from above and grapple for troops from below the surface, gamers will need to utilize various specialist roles, such stealth infiltrator, combat engineer and more. The last item on the brief list of details released today include online and LAN gaming. Until we are able to generate a full preview of the title, we have some screenshots to whet your appetites.
