"This will be a monumental struggle of good versus evil. But good will prevail." "God may show you mercy, we will not." "The enemies of America have always underestimated us. What they perceive as weakness is what gives America strength." "In righteousness, the United States government will hunt down to the ends of the earth the assassins of our innocent kin and we will strike back." "We literally and figuratively stand shoulder to shoulder in our appreciation of the job ahead. It is to help the victims, to care for the families and to punish those responsible."

July 16, 2001Joel Lee, if you're out there, please e-mail me. I lost your e-mail address, and need to speak to you.
I have had two offers so far to take over this site and the M41-A Pulse Rifle Resource. As soon as a decision is made, I will post more information here.
July 02, 2001If you have been to the site lately, you'll notice there haven't been any updates for about a month now. The reason for this is that I live in Houston, Texas, which was recently devastated by Tropical Storm Allison. Along with about 20,000 other residents of this city, my home was flooded. Although I did not get it as bad as many others, it was bad enough. The computer was not lost to rising water, but most of my furniture and a lot of personal items were. All of the flooring, both carpeting and tile, as well as a lot of the sheetrock and insulation have had to come out, and when I am not at work, I am at home doing that. All of this has taken considerably longer than was expected. I hope to be finished enough to set the computer back up this weekend. If you have e-mailed me, and not heard back, I will be responding to as many e-mails as possible as soon as everything is up and running again. This information is not offered up as a request for pity, but as an explanation as to the lack of change on either Sci-Firearms.com or the M41-A Pulse Rifle Resource. As some of you know, I do computer animation for a living. I am currently doing a lot of industrial stuff, mostly oilfield illustration. I hope this to not be the case for my entire career. If you are in my profession, there is an annual convention you should attend called SIGGRAPH. It is a showcase for the latest technology available to those doing computer animation as well as their work. It is also a great place to go job hunting. The 2002 convention will be held in July in San Antonio, Texas, and I had every intention of attending. Alas, one of the most devastating losses I suffered during the flooding was my entire art portfolio. This included everything I have ever drawn, including 2 years work from the Art Institute of Houston, and felt worth keeping. It was stored in a climate controlled storage locker with an alarm at a local storage depot. However, neither of these things prevented them flooding, and all was lost. I am still unsure as to what, if anything, of my computer-based work was lost as I have not located some of my storage media yet. The reason I mention all this is to lead into a rather large announcement. Sci-Firearms.com and the M41-A Pulse Rifle Resource are up on the chopping block. What little free time I have for the next year is going to be spent trying to create an entirely new portfolio of work to show at the next SIGGRAPH, and that has to take priority over everything else. Sci-Firearms and the PRR have been completely my doing, both in time and money, and I no longer have either of those. I also do not believe in leaving a dead, non-updated, website up indefinitely. Renewal for the URL is due by August 22, and I will leave everything online until then. I would very much like to see someone take over these sites, and am willing to hand over all materials to the correct individual willing to do so. I will also be willing to make occasional content contributions, time permitting. I AM NOT TRYING TO SELL A URL! There are few things in life that irritate me more than those who start a site, and try to sell a $72 url registration for $100,000. The only thing anyone would need to do monetarily is to take over the registration and hosting fees. The sites are currently hosted through a company called Everyone's Internet that only charges $10 a month. They have been very dependable, and I highly recommend them if you don't already have one. If you feel that you would like to take over this responsibility, please let me know, and we can discuss it. If you have information about your products or services posted on the sites, and are worried how this might affect you, please feel free to contact me. Thank you all for you support. |
